Wow. I don't want to burn for this, MacCaulay, but you sound like the devil. Not only do you recognize what makes the nation great, but you form a succinct idea of how best to undermine and overpower them: with cheap cultural artifacts and empty religious asseverations. I suppose in a time of war such tactics are useful if not praise-worthy. And I suppose an empire with colonial aspirations would back such an attitude. But I hope that these sorts of ideas can be more-easily stamped-out in this day and age. And perhaps the religious community of Victorian England fought against this report. I don't pretend to have done my research here.
The bright side is we're halfway through. Waiting to turn a full circle now.
